As much as we all love event planning (lol do we though?) it is so much better to trust the professionals to communicate your vision through the artistic medium of textures, colors, florals, silhouettes, and so much more. Wedding planners specifically are going to be your BEST FRIENDS! Let’s be honest, the wedding industry can be so full of varying opinions on “shoulds” and “should - nots,” but planners are going to help you find what works for your vision and bringing the artistic spirt of your love story to the forefront of your celebration.
Love, I get it; you’re not a wedding planner. That’s why I’m here to get you up to speed on the most common predictions for creative styles and inclusions for 2025 weddings.
If you want your wedding to be current, stunning, and jaw-droppingly fresh, it’s good to keep in mind what’s circulating around the wedding industry.
Here are 15 trend forecasts for 2025 couples and if I think they’re going to “Fly” or “Flop”
Pearl Clutches
I think this is coming in HOT and is going to be here to stay for YEARS!!
Pearls are a timeless and undoubtedly classic accent to any wedding, and they’ve withstood the test of time (literally symbolizing martial harmony way back to Ancient Greece!)
Some of my favorite clutches I’ve seen are
this Micro Bon Bon Bag from Jimmy Choo
this beautiful like - natural shape peal clutch, The Caldera Clutch from Cult Gaia
for the vintage elegance of the Art Deco era, this Elizabeth Ivory Pearl Handbeaded Handbag from Markarian
for Pearl Egg Acrylic Wristlet Bag from Simone Rocha (pictured)
Ballet Flats
Yes, thank god!
Flats have been a bit of a brave choice in the past, given the benefits that high heels offer to a silhouette, but I think that as more couples value their own comfort and experience a bit more than before, flats are going to be a CLEAR winner this year!
The stunning mesh flats, the Follies Strass from Christian Louboutin are going to add just the right understated glam to your wedding day look
The incredible pearl themed Bliss Flat from Stuar Weitzman are sure to be a hot pick among brides that value the timelessness of this flat
The very chic and sweet Mamaflirt Sling from Christian Louboutin is not technically a flat, but I’d be hard pressed to pass this beauty up! (pictured)
Layered Pearl Necklace
Hmmm, only ***kind of.
Because you can only add volume, weight, and texture to a neckline with certain wedding dress styles and remain balanced, I think this trend won’t get very much wind under its wings, and will continue on as less of a trend and more of a personal choice that we see only every once in a while.
As with my thoughts on pearls above, I think this is here for a good moment. I do think that layered pearl necklaces, as an ode to the long “string of pearls” we saw in the 1920’s, will be a focus for a year or two among those who chose to include it. Adding weight and texture in the neckline specifically requires the outfit to be even more understated or at least complementary to the necklace itself. This takes away from a lot of dress options for brides who choose to layer pearl necklaces.
For those who want to shop my picks on pearl necklaces, see the following:

Similar to the necklace above, but with a bit more weight, Layered Baroque Pearl Necklace from Vardui Kara
For a more classic feel, the Hamptons Layered Pearl Necklace from Sivalya
Voluminous Blusher Veil
No!
WOW I love this idea! Even if i don’t see it being widely adopted, veils are probably my very favorite accessorizing piece, and I think that every bride should plan on incuding a veil of some kind in her wedding look.
That said, I think that specifically voluminous veils will not be widely adopted as a trend in 2025. Normal blusher veils though are going to be an absolute MUST for brides all across the nation this year!
Here are the veils I like the most! Make sure to find one you LOVE because you only get to wear a veil once!
This veil with lace detailing from Jay Kay Bridal
This floral veil from Jenny Yoo
This classic but unique floral veil from Voir Bride (pictured)
The Maureen Circle Veil With Lace Edging from Over The Moon has a chokehold on me!
Lace tights
It completely depends!!
This is another stylized choice that I think is going to only appeal to a select group, but it’s different than that above. I think that Lace tights are so much fun and offer a very interesting visual tool when used properly, but I don’t think that most brides or grooms are going to don the hose for their wedding this year.
The excepting group is going to be brides opting for short dress styles or those who want to include as many textures as they can in their wedding day. This is a perfect opportunity to add an unexpected texture to what your guests will see during your celebration, especially if you plan to have your skirt bustled at the thigh to show off the texture of choice and add a draping movement to your wedding dress!
See some of my favorite inspiration for lace tights here:
Headscarf Veil
Nope. I do not think this is going to take off this year.
It’s giving “2014 forehead bandana / try hard bandwagon boho.” I think that the only reason for rejecting this potential trend is just that the style isn’t going to catch on.
*I’m specifically talking about wedding veils and NOT religious or cultural veils like the hijab or head wrap
Here are examples of the style of veil referenced for this potential trend!
Vintage inspired tiered cakes - here to stay
Here to stay!
We’ve seen some tiered cakes mostly refelctive of the 1990’s and 2000’s styles in 2024, and I’m excited to see bakers and confectioners really expand their work in their creativity! I want to see absolute works of art, and I know that brides and grooms will be looking for exactly that this year and for years to come.
Here are some cakes that I loved to see!
Surreal Dinner Settings
Sorry, you’re gone.
I think this is a cool idea, but it feels too much like an studio installation for a photoshoot, and not enough like a usable space for wedding guests to experience and enjoy. I think that something like this would be great to include in ceremony settings, where the couple can be set into the installation and thus be effectively appreciated by yourself and guests in attendance, but I do not think that making the dinner space into a surreal setting is going to be widely appreciated by most couples.
Rococo
Yes, yes, an hundred times yes!
The revival of Rococo means we’ll be seeing elaborate settings, asymmetry, and dramatic style in all aspects of a wedding day and I could not be more excited. For brides really leaning into the romantic, dreamy, and celestial type feel of Rococo, I expect to see lots of pastel color choices, soft textures contrasting and harmonizing with lots of gold details and a slow moving, leisurely pace to their wedding day.
Here are some well known paintings in the Rococo style to give you a little more inspiration straight from the source.
Chaotic cakes
Surprisingly, no!
I think that the only trend cakes will be getting this year is the vintage inspiration, and quite possibly rather large and many - tiered cakes. However I think that very chaotic cakes are going to miss out this year.
Stay tuned for next year, though, because as more and more couples warm up to the idea of such intriguing cakes, I think we might see a wave of excitement and adoption!
Red
Of course!!
Red has a very vintage and nostalgic feel to the current generation of couples, as well as a very powerful stylistic choice. I think that we’re going to see red everywhere. Trends tend to burn hot and fast or slow and steady, and I think that cherry - coded weddings are going to be in for a good run before the industry as a whole needs to take a step back to breathe from the color for another few years.
Red is classic for weddings, and I don’t see it going away as a staple any time soon, but I think we’ll definitely see a massive surge in the adoption of such a powerful and intruiging visual tool in the next year, which will cool off in a year or two.
Serpentine Tables
Keep em coming!
We saw a SURGE in stylized serpentine tables in 2023 and 2024 and I think they completely changed our standard for artistic dinner setups. The wavy shapes and flowing spacial design is going to stick around for the forseable future. I’m not sure that’s actually considered a trend anymore if it’s here to stay!
We love to see something new and fresh, so I think we’ll see something intriguing replace these squiggling setups in a few years. I’m so excited to see what the new star of the show is! Could it be floor tables and cushions as we lean into a romantic and leisurely experience? Or will we go the opposite direction with high fashion bold and dramatic shapes for the dining experience?
Live cooking
Very in!
People want their food fresh, and we love an experience. We’ll be leaning heavily into the theatrics of preparing an astounding dish and including food when we think of the experience wedding guests will be having.
I’m excited to see all sorts of incredible chefs doing their best work for a captivated audience as wedding guests stay well entertained during dinner!
Hand Drawn Announcements and Invitations
Yep!!
The vibes are immaculate.
A hand drawn wedding invitation suite is going to add an powerful feeling of personalization and closeness to the couple, and also speak to the effort each wedding couple is going to in order to ensure their guests have the most distinctive experience at the event of the year.
An invitation suite can include anywhere from 4 to 9 items not including envelopes (hello carpal tunnel), so remember that “hand drawn” doesn’t mean that YOU draw them! Hire artists or find designs that you like that have already been made. Either way, these unique invitations will be sure to communicate the love and intention you’re bringing to your wedding day.
More intuitive and trusting photography
YES!
As a photographer myself, I’ve already seen this happening and I am so excited about it. Photographers and videographers are being offered more and more space for creative freedom. This lets us tell the couple’s story using the artistic vision we were hired for, and it’s allowing us to create beautiful, bold, and emotional representations of your love story and your wedding day.
I think that as the creativity of photographers and videographers is more widely appreciated, this trend will only grow into standard practice!
