Traditional Catholic Wedding In Utah’s Beautiful Green Orchards - Poise & Ivy Imagery
Claudia and Kyland both come from catholic roots, so their wedding was unique amongst Utah’s largely LDS population. I absolutely loved to see how they incorporated their relationship to God in their wedding, from their vows to each other, to the communion they shared just after their ceremony.
It was touching to see these two come together in such romanticism for the life they plan to share.
Kyland and his groomsmen; enjoying some liquid courage before becoming a husband!
Not only am I simply a little bit obsessed with Juliet veils, Mantilla, and cap veils, but a mantilla is in fact traditionally Spanish and Latin American. These veils are all very similar, but the mantilla is the only one of the three that is liturgical, or relating to public worship. With Catholicism being so predominant in the Spanish and Latin American cultures, it seems fitting that Claudia chose to represent the reverence of her religious worship in her marriage.
Green and gold details. Simply one of the most timeless wedding color palettes to elevate your reception venue.

Claudia and Kyland’s vows
The first kiss officially as a married couple!!
Claudia’s bridal lace is giving “classic, romantic, timeless'“
Who said group portraits can’t be fun??
These groomsmen knew how to have a good time, and needed absolutely no prompting from me to lift up the groom in celebration!
The sisterhood among the bridesmaids was honestly next level! These women know how to support their main girlie.
Walking through the apple orchards at their wedding venue, Claudia and Kyland take a moment to themselves to enjoy the romantic sunset through the trees.
The way this groom looks at his bride has everyone swooning
Playful and coy, Claudia & Kyland share the bridal veil
We’ve already touched on the veil, but this beauty needs its own moment.
The sunset shining through the lace - I CANNOT! I am too obsessed
Honoring tradition, Claudia & Kyland cut the cake together to kick off their wedding reception and after party!
Their cake also tied in parts of their Latin American culture with mini churro doughnuts to enjoy.
Claudia moved from her formal veiled wedding look to a more modern take simply by removing the veil for the beginning of the reception.
Honorary dances with the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom to celebrate the marriage of these two families. The whole crowd of friends and family could feel the love these two mothers had for their children, and the pride they felt in their choices of spouses.
Claudia and Kyland enjoyed their first dance together as a married couple in front of all their friends and family gathered on the lawn. Their joy was palpable as they took in the moment.
Before the reception evolved into a wild party, Claudia changed into her second wedding outfit, pictured below. I love the idea of having a reception or send off specific look! It’s so much fun to have two bridal looks, not to mention the practicality of not having to worry about something spilling on your white wedding gown sometime during the night.
The party was in full swing hours into the night! Everybody joined in on the dance floor to celebrate Claudia and Kyland.
Claudia already has a close bond with her mother in law, and they danced the night away.
Claudia and Kyland ended the night with a last dance.
As the wedding guests cleared out to organize the exit line, the dance floor was left empty, and Claudia and Kyland were able to enjoy one last dance alone in each other’s company, spending dedicated time with each other before the wedding was officially over.
Capturing this wedding day was truly an honor.
I love photographing traditional weddings as well as non traditional elopements! Capturing your love however you want to celebrate it is my specialty. From celebrating your cultural traditions in your wedding attire, to getting down to the music you like, I’ll be there for you all day and all night.
All the love
