Romantic Boho First Look Photoshoot at Utah Sand Dunes - Poise and Ivy Imagery
Can you BELIEVE this is UTAH?! Until you see these soft sprawling dunes in person, it can be hard to fathom that this fantastic location is under two hours away from Salt Lake City. Talk about convenient!
One of the best things about being a wedding photographer in Utah specifically is the diversity In the natural landscape. Sure, this beautiful state is known best for red rocks and mountainous scenes, but we also have stark white salt flats that stretch into the horizon, soft wave like white rocks, historical urban landscapes that might remind you of New York, beaches, forests, rivers, meadows, and so much more.
Whenever I’m lucky enough to convince a couple to visit the dunes with me, I know its going to be a great - nay, a STUNNING - evening haha. Not only are the colors so soft and make for such romantic photos, but it’s so much fun to run around this unique landscape!
Brynlee and Parker are two people who I knew would appreciate this natural beauty for all that it has to offer.
Brynlee and parker have chosen to lean into the rustic and romantic look for their wedding day, as their marriage ceremony is going to be taking place at a historic LDS temple made of the most beautiful light red-orange brick. Everything about their love story leans into the classical feel that their venue has to offer.
Knowing how the couple wanted to style their wedding day, I made sure to style each of our shoots prior to their wedding in the same theme. The sand dunes lend themselves to the bohemian concept perfectly, so I knew we had a chance to make magic here!
I love how the sun casts a hazy glow over these beautiful fiances as they share their first look. Talk about DREAMY and MAGICAL!!
THE VEIL!!???! Omg I simply cannot. I love the way the soft fabric catches and plays with the sunlight
Romance novel illustrators, WYA? I have the perfect shots for you 😘 lol
As the sun began to set in earnest, casting a warm glow over the landscape, I stopped Brynlee and Parker atop a dune. The sun illuminated the two lovebirds perfectly and romantically, and we could see the unique landscape behind them. The desert brush contrasted with the neutral softness of the sand dunes, and I just love the way it set them off!!
Brynlee’s veil flew from her hair mis snuggle HAHA 😅
As the light faded, we were met with the cutest pink and clue cotton candy skies, and I just HAD to take a few more shots before we started the walk back to our cars. I’m so happy I did because how precious are these colorful skies <3
I will never pass up an opportunity to go to the dunes, especially if the sunset is anything like it was for Brynlee and Parker’s first look photoshoot!
I love sharing my work with you, so thank you for coming and reading along with my blog and looking at all the pretty pictures, haha! If you ever have any questions about photography, photoshoots, weddings, or really anything else, leave me a comment! I’d love to chat ◡̈
All my love
